  I grew up in the Massachusetts Berkshires and have also lived in Connecticut and Wisconsin. I began college at age 25, earning three college degrees (associates, bachelors, and masters) in the next eight years. In 1989, I opened a private psychotherapy and consultation practice. I have traveled all over the country and appeared on over twenty television shows and national public radio speaking on topics related to trauma recovery. Today I live with my husband and our two sons in rural Pennsylvania.
